Excellent purchase! I live in the desert and the only pet store near me charges $12 for a pack of 2 filters. So for me that's a great thing. I have used land based marine bio wheel pumps and filters for the last 20 years. I don't think the comment about changing the filter is correct. Maybe if you want dead fish. I don't claim to be an expert, but I've never heard of it. I change the filter every 2 weeks when I change the water and my fish live for years. Indeed follow the instructions. Would you rinse a dirty diaper in the sink and then put it back on your baby?
