I bought to use with my new iPad Pro 12.9 and regular computer hardware. In combination with a power supply of the appropriate power level (60W or higher), it works perfectly as it should. Connect the monitor with an HDMI cable and a stick, the image on the screen will be displayed in the same way as the sound on the monitor. If the external monitor doesn't have speakers, the iPad won't play sound through the speakers. To get around this, I recommend connecting multiple USB speakers to the monitor. This item allows you to use this type of usage either when charging your iPad or when using AC power. Also, the dock has many ports that the iPad doesn't have, giving you more flexibility in using your iPad.
