I bought these to keep plants watered during a 2-week vacation. I spent 2 weeks before our trip troubleshooting these waterers and after hours trying to make them work multiple times I only got half of them to work. The idea is simple but the system is badly designed. The idea is that as the water seeps through the ceramic more water is pulled from the container through the tubing by capillary action. The problem is that this is badly designed because the tubing stops flush with the plastic cap, which means any little air bubble and the 'vacuum' is lost. This makes it almost impossible to get them to work because even when you submerge them fully in water you can still get small bubbles in. The part I don't understand is why the company designed this so badly. I think this could've been very easily solved by making the tubing go lower than the cap, so that it still is in contact with the water even if there are small bubbles at the top. So frustrating!
