I bought this scale to weigh my cat who has lost weight due to health issues. Her problem (hyperthyroidism) has been resolved, but I wanted to be able to track her progress on weight regain. This scale works very well for them. The baby platform is big enough that she can stand on it without feeling that she will fall, so it is very easy to weigh her. She seems to really like the scale because every time I set it up she runs up and jumps right on it. This appears to be fairly accurate as her weight at the veterinary office matched her weight on this scale. I plan to use this to weigh the kids when they are born in the spring. I'm glad the platform is removable so I can use the scale myself too. The scale also works great as long as the animals (or babies) don't stand completely still - a great feature! It is very difficult to get wavy animals to sit perfectly still on the scale! If my cat moves a little on the scale, the weight on the screen will increase or decrease by a tenth of a pound as long as it moves, but it will still show the weight. The scale I had previously only read "unstable", everything being weighed moved on the scale at all so it didn't work well for pets. It is very beautiful and will be really useful on my farm.
