Simple silicone mats
We use this over a plastic table to protect from the heat of our food. They do a good job and look decent. They slide around a bit on the plastic table but thats fine. They do get a bit streaky after a wipe down and they also attract dust, lint, and hair which is not great. I plan on covering them up with a cheap tableclothe so none of this will matter but YMMV.
