Review on πŸ”’ Laptop Lock Cable Lock - Enhanced Security Hardware Cable Anti-Theft Lock for Laptop, MacBook, iPad, Tablets by Brandon Barrett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent but be sure to look at the keyed version, not the pin version

This is a great lock for those of us with laptops that don't have security locks. Too bad I didn't buy it years ago. The only issues are: (1) If your laptop is like mine and has a screen that folds fully into a tablet, you won't be able to fully fold the screen anymore due to the adhesive (yes), but it's not too unstable, if you want to flip the screen so that it's resting on the adhesive, you can still use a stylus or finger on the screen and the wiggling isn't too much, and (2) when in doubt, I strongly recommend the keyed version. I originally bought the pin code version out of concern that I might lose the key. It was a bad call. The pin header is so small and the numbers are so close together that you're constantly shifting other numbers that you've already set. This is time consuming and I suspect this issue of unintentional movement of some keys will bother most buyers unless you have very small fingers. Less important, but still annoying, is the reflection of the keyboard surface in any room lighting. It looks good and all, but it's ridiculously impractical when you're trying to stare at tiny numbers on a gold-plated surface that reflects brightly in your eyes. I know, I know, that sounds very exaggerated, but I tested it with two friends who had the same reaction. In any case, a simple fix to these annoyances is to use a similarly priced key version instead.
