I was looking for a water bottle filter that tasted amazing without it like the desktop water filtration system at my work. This water filter definitely improved the taste of the water in my fridge, just what I needed. (But while it's great-tasting water, it's not the delicious-tasting water I was craving.) After a quick wash of the bottle, straw, and cap with soapy water and the filter with plain water, it was ready to use. A few things to watch out for as some buyers didn't see these little details as the bottle doesn't come with a manual: Instructions are on the back of the paper sleeve that's attached to the bottle. The filter also has a recommended month of use before you need to replace it after 3-4 months. The bottom of the bottle says hand wash only. Do not wash the filter with soapy water. They've pre-washed it for you so it's ready to go. The buyer said they had leak issues - when you fill it up the filter wants to float so you have to be sure to push and twist the cap along the way, it took me a few tries. I just didn't fill it up that high next time. If the lid is properly closed, no leakage will occur.
