Review on Optimized for SEO: Sony ICD-SX25 Digital Voice Recorder by Dan Weeman

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Poor button design and lack of Mac compatibility

Although this recorder has a handy size and plenty of space on board, there is a lot to complain about. With so many features, it is clearly intended for more professional uses. Then why not offer Mac compatibility at all? Why not add a Mac driver at least in the future? Disappointing. The control buttons are very poorly designed. Keys dangle and get dirty, and recordings often roll back to the beginning if the user tries to fast-forward or rewind while manually logging data (yes, manual logs, since there's no Mac support). The buttons are very close together, making it difficult for people with large hands to operate. Whether it's the maximum volume of 30 or other settings, it's difficult to interpret the recorded sound. Headphones didn't help either. I gave it an extra star for the strong battery life and high volume on board when recording with economy audio settings. However, due to button issues and total lack of Mac compatibility, this recorder isn't worth the money and is being returned to a competing brand.
