The zip has held up well so far but it doesn't appear to be a very strong zip. If it ever breaks down I will most likely replace it as well as the lining as the lining is cheap plastic junk that crumples like a candy wrapper. It was a pretty cheap bag to be honest, so it's still better than I expected. I bought two and used one to "wrap" a gift, which turned out to be pretty cute and more useful to the recipient than paper that gets thrown away.
