Save Ribbon - Office Electronics

The ideal way to save ribbon is to print in a chain and remove the blank space that is added at the beginning of each label. If the chain lock is not used, the line must be cut off with scissors and discarded. The instructions that come with the labeler are not clear on how to set up a "chain seal" and eliminate these losses. To do this, the border configuration must be set to chain pressure. The instructions do not state that the border menu has four options for specifying the border width: Full, Half, Narrow, and Chain. Only the first three are listed in the label manufacturer's instructions. When the last scrolling option "Chain Print" is used to set up the labeler and save on waste, you will be asked "Would you like to feed?" each time you print a label. By pressing <Esc> (Exit) you can choose to print another identical label or enter another label to add to the previous label on the tape strip. Labels are separated by a minimal but sufficient space between labels, which can be increased by inserting a space at the end of each label. After all the labels have been printed, you can feed and cut the label strip. If the labeler is not configured for sequential printing, the message "You want to feed" will not appear and the label will print immediately with a useless and wasteful 1" strip automatically added to the front of each label. Chain Print is not a standard configuration or labeller. If the labeler configuration is reset, then the chain print configuration must be set afterwards if the label sequence is minimal waste. The solution to this problem and the variety of tapes available with the ease with which the liner can be removed makes this labeler great.
