Review on Breathable Dog Surgical Recovery Suit For Male And Female Dogs - Ideal For Abdominal Wounds And Post-Operation Care, Anti-Licking Cone E Collar Alternative And Dog Vest, By LIANZIMAU by Los Bizness

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Comfortable- No zipper. Snaps only.

My 24lb Corgi had a splenectomy and we used this suit, size Large, during day hours while he was supervised. He was comfortable in it, it was breathable and washed well. I felt it helped add an extra hygiene barrier for his surgery site. You put it on by placing the front feet through the leg holes then you begin snapping the top together down the spine. When you are closer to the hips you can then slide the back legs into the remaining leg holes. Then finish snapping the suit to the tail. A female dog could potentially poop and pee with suit completely on. A male dog you will have to unsnap it- it unsnaps quickly so if your dog is jumpy and jumps while trying to roll it up then it will simply unsnap all the way. So I just took it off for potty breaks.Do not leave your dog in recovery unattended in the suit without a cone. It is thin. If a dog wanted to chew on an incision then they still could with this suit on- it’s just a lick barrier.A dog with normal length legs may not have this issue so I did not deduct any stars for it- my short corgi was able to fold his legs up and out of the front leg holes while he was napping and the collar easily stretched down to his rib cage. Luckily I was right with him as he slept so I corrected it as soon as he woke up.

Pros
  • Can be used during training for incontinence and housebreaking, minimizing mess indoors
Cons
  • May cause overheating or breathing difficulties in some dogs
