I really really want to love this. The split design is exactly what I'm looking for and I love the zipped interior. I referee ice hockey and use packing cubes for my street and referee kit. After the games I dump my stuff in the garage to dry and air it, then I just take the packing cube to wash. The sizes are perfect, love the tough piping, love the zipped compartment to keep the messy clean. Need a compression zipper on BOTH sides or the open side. As mentioned, the compression is unusual for the inside of the bag. You will also need a carrying handle.
