The Armacost Lighting #211125 mini LED downlight is great for accent wall lighting. I operate the lamp with a dimmable 20 W power supply #820200 from Armacost. The power cord connects to a Lutron Caseta lamp dimmer, which offers on/off and dimming functions via the remote control. The fixture installs in a drywall ceiling through a 1 1/4" hole cut with a hole saw. The 12V DC lighting power cable is routed through the ceiling joist on the other side of the wall where it passes through the ceiling runs directly to the wall in the closet.The LED driver mounts on the wall near the ceiling and connects to a Lutron dimmer that plugs into a 120v outlet that I put in on the opposite side of the accent wall installed near the ceiling specifically to power this light. three sets of brushed metal caps, black and white. Of the three finish colors provided, only the polished metal mounting flange and cover are metal. Black and white linings are plastic. The eyelid of the white Lining is translucent. The glow of the light will be visible through the white plastic. I didn't check if the black eyelid was translucent. I e I opted for brushed metal parts. A metal eyelid better reflects the light to the wall. When used with a Lutron Caseta lamp dimmer and #820200 LED driver, the light is perfectly dimmable. No flicker or buzz. This light is slightly more expensive than other similar lights, but worth the extra cost. I have never been disappointed with Armacost products. I plan to use this light again for other projects.
