I bought this whale to use as a night light in my son's nursery. It's cute, soft, and perfect for a kid's theme. I've been using it at night for 3 months. It plugged into the same outlet and I had no problems with it. until last night. I walked into my son's room in the middle of the night (he woke up to eat) and saw the light was off. I found it weird because I turned it on before bed. I went to try turning the light on in the dark and had trouble getting it to work. Then I smelled burning plastic, so I unplugged it and carried it out of his room. I took it to my room to inspect in the light and found what I had drawn above. The point where the charging cable was inserted into the whale melted! Thank goodness nothing caught fire! It could have been a lot worse. I don't know what went wrong but I know it shouldn't happen, especially when used in a kindergarten. An absolute security risk. Edit: 2 weeks later me and the electrician gave me their opinion. They told me that the problem is not in the socket. I contacted the seller and received some instructions on how to use the product properly. I may have charged the product and was told I would get a replacement (due to the warranty). Your customer service has been great and I appreciate the replacement although I'm still a little afraid of reusing it in my child's nursery. I will update this article later if I give it another chance!
