The town I live in is notorious for hard water, and hard water stains on my toilets are nothing new. Before purchasing this pumice stone, I was content with spraying my toilets with "limestone" sprays, waiting 5 minutes, and then brushing them. After receiving this item I realized I could skip the spraying step and just use this item to remove the stains. I am very happy with the results and since having a small child I no longer have to worry about that strong chemical smell in the bathroom. Compared to toilet brushes, they are much easier to handle and use.
