I first bought this refurbished so I'm not sure if some of these issues are related or not. But… I have a love-hate relationship with these headphones. The good things first: the sound of the AirPods max is phenomenal. The noise cancellation is top notch. However, my favorite feature has to be the transparency mode. It uses external microphones to pick up the sound around me. So if I want to listen to the kids or whatever for a few minutes, I can turn it on and not feel like I'm completely turned off. The earbuds are a little heavier than the others, but despite this, they are quite comfortable to wear all day while at work. The bad: I'm not sure what's wrong, but auto-switching between multiple devices is very annoying. I was on a call with zoom and just looking at my phone and all of a sudden my sound went off and I tried to switch to my phone's sound. I'm not sure if there are that many problems with it because my old airfields never seemed to do that. Luckily I found a setting to manually connect the device, which has been working much better ever since. A little annoying "smart" body. Only they are very bulky and not as elegant as I would have expected from Apple. Overall, I think these headphones are good - just a few quirks that take getting used to. I found a setting to connect manually when using the device, which has been working much better since then. The "intelligent" case is also a bit annoying.
