Review on ๐Ÿ”ง VXDIAG VCX Nano: Wi-Fi Compatible Diagnose & Programming Tool for Toyota and Lexus - SAE J2534 by Brian Hazzard

Best faulty software for diagnostic test and measurement tools

I want to start by saying I'm a retired software engineer, software is my experience. Working with cars is a lifelong hobby. I've never been able to get live monitoring to work without crashing (Windows 7). When installing, skip the CD and go to their website to install vxmanager. The one on the CD that came with it never allowed me to run Techstream as if it wasn't installed. The entire programming portion of this seems sketchy at best. I have no idea if the license to use Techstream is legal. You need internet access for the software to get a two-day license for Techstream, although VXManager shows a license until 2030. Techstream still asks you to install Java, which I did, but the popup still appears on every launch. I'm returning it because the only part that worked for me was reading and clearing the codes, I can use a cheap scan tool for that. Real-time data monitoring and advanced features are what I need.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
