I bought these shoes, my only shoe for 2 weeks in all of Italy and my feet have never hurt. I walked most of the day and had no complaints. It is very important to note that I ordered both the 12E and 12D and after comparing the two, the WIDE FIT proved to be much more comfortable and nicer for what I intended to use it for which is walking! If you are buying them for running or more strenuous exercise I can see why a very snug fit would be beneficial. However, as this is just a casual shoe for long walks, I am very happy with this purchase and will consider buying again.
