I was unable to shower for almost 7 weeks after my open heart surgery, but the nurses provided me with these cleansing wipes during that time. As an LVAD/HeartMate 3 patient, I wear external batteries 24/7 to power my artificial heart. Yes, a wire literally comes in and out of my body. Now you can shower regularly at home, I close the cable entry with a moisture-proof cap. Around the 24-hour open wound, there is a lot of space that is not cleaned when taking a shower. After showering, I use these wipes to clean the messy area around my open wound. These wipes do not spread over the entire skin and therefore dry quickly. I notice a feeling of stickiness, but it goes away quickly for me. I don't use these wipes directly on an open wound, I have other solutions for that. As an avid outdoorsman, these wipes do a good job of keeping dirt and sweat off my skin, which is obviously important since they are so close to my wound.
