Excellent tripod. The legs fold into 4 telescopic sections, which is very convenient for height adjustment. Not only the legs are height adjustable, but also the central part where you mount your camera or scope. The tripod is made of very strong aluminum and some durable plastic. The only thing I don't like is the way they designed the camera or scope mount. The piece sits within this whole and has a latch to secure items. There are settings to set the tension. I just think it's a tricky design. I'd rather have a flat mounting surface to attach your items to. The pistol grip is very convenient for panning and smoothly moving your scope or camera. The ball joint has two types of movement, which allows the use of video and fixed cameras. There are many movements to suit the needs of most users and individuals. Update: March 16, 2019 I've had the opportunity to use this tripod several times, so I'd like to share my thoughts. Still supporting my initial review but I found this tripod only good for cameras and anything under 3 pounds. I installed a Leupold Mark 4 spotting scope and it's too heavy for this tripod. I ended up having to buy a Geekoto 77" tripod. I'm waiting for it to arrive and will review that tripod as well. I also had to tighten the leg hinges a bit so the legs don't close when I pick the tripod up myself still find this to be a solid tripod for photography but not for heavy scope use.
