Absolutely better than a match or butane stove lighter. Light the burners easily, quickly and easily. Anyone who has used it seems pleasantly surprised that it works so well. To update. Stop working after just 3 months. The battery is still OK (tested with a load greater than 1.5 volts). The light still works. The device still "clicks" and will shock you if you touch the metal neck of the device, leading me to believe that there is a short somewhere in the voltage path. Sometimes it still works properly, but most of the time it doesn't. Changes to 2 stars. Would give 1 star but I really like the concept and hope to refurbish it. Was hoping for better quality when I bought it.
