Review on πŸ“ 19.5 Ounce Doctor's Best Fruit Punch Clear Whey Protein Powder by Scott Bailey

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great protein, not very tasty. Also missing BCAAs?

This review is for Doctors Best Clear Whey Protein. This thing has very simple ingredients. Basically, it's only 20g of protein. So if you are looking for a protein drink with no added vitamins or other additives then this is for you. The first thing I want to say is that I'm one of those people who find stevia extract not sweet at all. So for me there is no sweetness in it. I didn't realize it had stevia in it until I ordered it. So I won't consider taste here as it will be bad for me. I think others who hate the taste of it are in the same group as me. The instructions say to put one scoop in 16 ounces of water and shake/stir, then wait 30-40 seconds and it will clear. I did and it kind of became clear. However, it was still fairly hazy and I could barely see my shaker ball there until I brought it to the rim of the cup. Not what I would call transparent, so strange statement from them. The best thing about this substance is that it really is completely miscible with water. There was no mud at the bottom of my cup. It's 100% mixed. This is amazing to see and very rare in my experience. Most protein drinks settle when you drink them, but not this one. Taste. Again, I can't try the stevia extract. It tastes really bad to me. I get a green apple but it's not the best without some sweetness. With a bit of sweetness, I think it tastes decent. It's pretty much the only protein that's amazing. The side of the bottle mentions 9 essential amino acids and 3 BCAAs and how you need them, but the ingredients don't mention it. A little weird. The listing says you're getting 20g of protein and 4.5g of BCAAs. Where is it in the ingredients? Every other supplement I have that mentions BCAAs is listed in the amount you receive. Usually you will see L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine listed but not here.
