Review on Calvin Klein Boys' Skinny Jeans: Ultra-Soft Stretch Denim, Slim-Fit, 5 Pockets & Zipper Closure by German Diaz

Nice skinny jeans, runs a little small, very difficult button

My soon to be 7 year old is still in that awkward phase where the best pants are with an elastic waistband or at least the button closes with a latch or closes as a real button. Also, my son has always been one size bigger since he was a year old. He's 8 now that he's 7. I'm 5-10 inches tall and everyone in my family is tall so he was always a size up due to his height. He's not super skinny either. He is a healthy, muscular boy. These Calvin Klein skinny jeans fit my son really well. Now there is usually a little more room in size 8 than in these jeans. So I assume that he will outgrow them by the end of autumn. He tried them on and we had to tuck in the bottom a bit and he was able to sit in them easily but they have holes in the back. There are elastic bands on the side to tighten them but I don't think this will solve my son's problem. I understand these are skinny jeans, but what makes skinny jeans skinny is the shape of the leg, not the width of the waistband. However, they are thin everywhere. My main issue is the button closure. Why do the world's clothing manufacturers insist on buttons for little children's pants? I remember growing up a size (about my son's age) and I didn't have buttons anymore, I had buttons. My world collapsed because it was so hard to zip up my pants. It was not like that, that I didn't know how to button up, but a button was ridiculously difficult to unbutton and button up. Same problem here. I struggled to zip them up for my son, how is he supposed to wear them to school? Some manufacturers of children's clothing have started to catch on and have started using a faux button and snap button closure. Keeps pants closed but easy for little ones to open when they need to go to the bathroom. So I actually plan on going to a tailor to put on a tack instead of a button. However, I don't have to go through all that for kid's jeans, which my son will eventually outgrow. Denim is quite heavy, so it works well for fall, winter and early spring. Washing is really nice. Nice medium dark colour. They also have a brand new, traditional denim smell, so I feel like I'm getting a decent pair of jeans. They make a great start on school uniform (my son wears a uniform but there are dress up days). I just want them to be true size 8 and the clasp is realistic for 7-8 year olds.

Pros
  • Machine washable
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something
