I've been using one of these for a few weeks now and am in the process of ordering a second one. I have two 100 lb dogs and a yard but no fence (yet). I used to have anchors with open triangular heads and a ring to which the cable was attached. Problems with it: 1) The ferrule wasn't as strong as the post and it broke a couple of times then rusted through. As you snap the triangular element, it may straighten up over time and allow the clip to slip off. 2) Dogs tended to wrap the cord around their heads. This anchor screws in so that the head is flush with the ground and the ferrule is thick and heavy metal. I also don't understand how the cable can wrap around it. Nothing interferes with the lawnmower's operation, and the orange color makes it easy to tell if you want to remove it. It hasn't moved since I installed it. As mentioned, you'll likely need a stick or rod through the ring to screw it all the way in.
