Even fits on a computer screen

I am building a computer workstation using IKEA - IVAR parts for supports and shelves. My main work surface has a top shelf that I had to leave at about 23 inches to fit my HP monitor, the 32-inch HP ENVY QHD multimedia display with Bang & Olufsen speakers that I bought from Revain. The work surface is 29 inches deep, when the display was at the back edge it was sometimes difficult to read the printed material. Instead of moving the display back and forth with the stand, I decided to mount the display on a system that would allow me to adjust the position of the display. The first mount I tried was one that mounted to the countertop. Heavy Duty Gas Spring Single LCD Desktop Arm Mount Supports heavy monitors weighing at least 20 pounds and fits a 17-34 inch monitor. I had some issues with this mount as I couldn't get the mounting surface low enough to mount the display. So my next option was to use a bracket that could be attached to the wall. Instead of attaching the bracket to the wall, I made a pair of cross bars between the vertical supports of the shelving system and attached the bracket. With the swing arm fully extended, I was able to attach the display without any problems. This system consists of two main components. First, this is the knuckle assembly. The second is a separate assembly that attaches to the back of the display and then slides over the end of the bracket. I've been using this mount for about three months and I'm happy with the results. If you are concerned about using a mount designed for a TV as opposed to a computer monitor, I would like to point out that manufacturers of TVs, computer monitors and various types of mounts tend to use the same general hole patterns.
