Review on Maximize Sound Control with Monoprice 108231 Speaker Selector by John Bailey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Effectively and inexpensively solves a common problem

This is a reliable component that solves a common problem at a reasonable price. I already had a distribution block, but it sent the same voltage to each selected set of speakers. In order to reproduce sufficient volume from the outer pair, the inner pair had to be turned off as the internal volume would be unacceptably high. Balancing two pairs is easy with this component. I doubt I'll be touching much volume limiter in the future, and disabling some terraces when not in use is a simple press of a button. At least from the outside a really successful component, much heavier, than I expected with a few plastic parts. I disagree with other reviewers that wired speaker connections are cheap or inadequate. They are only designed for semi-permanent connection with screw caps, which I think is exactly what you want. I can't inspect the internal circuitry without disassembling the unit, of course, but there's no noticeable drop in tone. Shutdown or noticeable distortion when turning on the device. The cabinet stays cool even after several hours of operation. I have every reason to believe that the inner quality is not inferior to the outer. Highly recommended! but there is no noticeable drop in sound or discernible distortion from turning the unit on. The cabinet stays cool even after several hours of operation.
