I'm usually petite or medium sized in dresses weighing 140 pounds and 5ft 3in. After reading the reviews I got the average in this dress and it fits perfectly! The bodice isn't tight enough to compress armpit fat, which I was concerned about since smokey dresses can do that. Bows on the shoulders, I was surprised that you tie them yourself, they are not sewn on. The fabric surprised me too, I thought it was more linen but it's more like polyester and it feels so light and a lot more expensive than it looks in the photos. The length is great too, I was afraid it would be too long, but it comes down to my ankle so I can wear sandals or heels. The body of the dress doesn't fit too big, I was worried it might be messy. It's so perfect and light enough for the summer heat. Technically I went up a size on this one as I'm usually small in dresses so I'd go up a size or take your normal size if you're not worried about top compression.
