Disappointed with the cheap remotes I had I decided to give the Vello a try. I'm glad I did! !After some confusion I got it working in just a few minutes. This device corresponds to the description in the advertisement. It's small and light, and I've shot from about 100 feet and through walls. What a joy after the constant glitches of the small and cheap consoles. It's not cheap (relatively), but if you're looking for a remote control I'd recommend it. You will not be disappointed. Since I already had a flash trigger, I didn't need a new one. This block triggers the shutter, which in turn triggers the flashes I use. It works great. The beauty is that if you have multiple cameras from different brands, you only need to buy an extra cheap connection cable to use this device with those cameras. The product is light but strong and looks sturdy. The recipient must not use a hot shoe. You connect the receiver to an input on your camera, and you can mount the receiver on a tripod or other convenient location so you can use a hot shoe or flash trigger (if you have one). Batteries in trigger and receiver, make sure you turn on the trigger by pressing the power button. and then turn it off when you're done. There is no power switch on the receiver to worry about. Too bad I didn't buy this a long time ago.
