Review on πŸ–¨οΈ ELEGOO Mercury 3D Printer Machine Turntable by Nathan Jones

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Arrived damaged. Dodgy DC port. Would still buy again. beautiful.

Let's face it, if you look at this, most UV curing chambers are more expensive than the printer you're using. Another option is to do it yourself, which I did. But my god, my sterilite jar was ugly compared to all my other tech toys and it took me a while to put it together. For the price I paid ($59.99) it looks basic. Unfortunately mine arrived with a loose little plexiglass window and mixed double sided adhesive. I attached it with glue but it didn't make the best first impression. I see glue failing on others and windows just fall off while curing. It's not like it fires off gamma rays that turn you into supervillains, but... just not what I'd like to see. The window could be held better, maybe with screws. My second issue is that the DC connector is off center and I actually have to work to insert the plug. I could probably take it all apart and fix it, but it works the way it is. It's just another not-so-fuzzy thing. Also, I am MUCH happier with the small size of this curing chamber compared to my DIY solution. and YES, you can certainly make a nice DIY solution. But if you factor in the time to purchase parts, then the assembly time AND compare it to the final product. I still call it a win in comparison. Using the camera is as easy as using a microwave. I would buy it again. for now. Time will tell how long the lights last and I'll update this when they go out.
