In terms of image quality, this monitor is in a completely different league than mid-range monitors. Color gamut, resolution and backlight uniformity are impressive. It's great for Photoshop and fun to use with MS Office and other applications. The stand is simple, elegant, well designed and the monitor is easy to rotate vertically if needed. The decal set works well. Controls and buttons are better placed and easier to use than most monitors. It is important that the new user takes some time to go through the menu and become familiar with all the options. The monitor has a sleek built-in calibration probe and monitor calibration software, but a computer is not required for full monitor calibration as the calibration hardware is already built into the monitor. I'm using xRite i1 Studio where the hardware and software is currently around $500. I get high quality results and xRite also allows me to calibrate my second monitor.
