Review on ⌚ Marathon GPS Watch by Timex by Mary Yergeau

Brief Description: The world of GPS watches is full of fragile, self-destructing and inaccurate watches. This watch is not one of them. I spent a few months replacing my Garmin Forerunner 405CX piece of junk (which inexplicably died after only a year of use, it would have cost over $100 to "restor" it and it always lasts forever anyway how long it took to acquire satellites) and reviews several Garmin products as well as Nike+ and Soleus. With Garmin and Nike+, I was shocked to see how often these watches would just fail on their own, and Soleus seemed to focus on lots of bells and whistles I just don't want or need. The Timex Marathon JUST WORKS! Yes, the menus aren't intuitive and you can't download data to your computer (yet?), but the Timex picks up satellites quickly, sits comfortably on my wrist, and is a solid watch. Ideal if you are looking for something reliable, accurate and efficient. Pros: - VERY fast acquisition of satellites - accurate - solid construction - comfortable to wear (I don't even notice it on my wrist while running) - IT JUST WORKS AS IT'S DESIGNED! Cons: - Menu organization is tricky at first, but not really a problem after you play around with it a bit - On-screen stats can be a bit hard to see while running (displays aren't as big as say a Forerunner 405CX or Nike+) - maybe not as stylish as other watches.
