Solid performance: Ladies

I wasn't interested in a fully featured GPS running watch. All I wanted was a watch that showed distance and was water resistant. After training, I can look at the data, but when running, I'm only interested in the distance. And I run in the rain, so waterproofing is also important to me. This watch does. There's no heart rate monitor or the ability to connect it to a computer and download anything. And it suits me. After three weeks of use I had no problems with it. I charge every few days…

Finally a Reliable Workhorse GPS Watch

Brief Description: The world of GPS watches is full of fragile, self-destructing and inaccurate watches. This watch is not one of them. I spent a few months replacing my Garmin Forerunner 405CX piece of junk (which inexplicably died after only a year of use, it would have cost over $100 to "restor" it and it always lasts forever anyway how long it took to acquire satellites) and reviews several Garmin products as well as Nike+ and Soleus. With Garmin and Nike+, I was shocked to see how often…

Clearly not designed by a runner!

This is the first GPS I have ever bought. The only good thing I can say about the product is that I got it for a pretty low price. The minute and mile numbers at the bottom are huge and easy to read, but useless when running. It would be nice to have those numbers big if it really worked in real time. The top row of numbers shows the time elapsed while running and is a bit difficult to read quickly while running, partly because it's too small and mainly because the numbers match without spaces.

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Non-Automatic

Excellent GPS watch

The Timex Marathon GPS watch is a great addition to my running gear. This is the first GPS watch I own and proves that good information makes a difference in performance. In setting mode, the watch has a time/date function that allows the user to enter time zone information. I use the DST zone in Washington DC. In Set, I selected Auto GPS to have the watch use satellite information from a GMT source to accurately display the time and date. The display shows WAS WE (zone and day) on line 1…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Explosion for a dollar? Definitely thumbs up!

I've had this GPS watch for almost two years now and I LOVE it! I tried all my friends and family with GPS watches before deciding on this watch. I was aware of the limitations of this Timex before purchasing it and did NOT feel like I was missing anything. I don't want to upload my daily 3.2 mile runs to my computer or website. I live in FLAT lands in South Louisiana and that works great with that topography. When we were in the mountains of North Carolina for a few days, I felt like I was…
