Quality construction and correct performance

My 20 year old cosmetic bag that traveled the world with me finally died so I reluctantly went in search of a replacement. Luckily, during that time I learned what I like and dislike about this bag and this time I was able to find the best design for me. Specifically, I used one of those popular clamshell bags that open in the middle and hang from a hook (I had an Eagle Creek Wallaby or an earlier incarnation of this bag). That seemed like a good idea at the time, but in practice I've found that the contents below tend to fall out of their little stretchy compartments and spill out across the bed/floor the next time the bag is opened. . My wife and son have similar models from another company and they do the same thing. So I decided to try a dopp style bag where you basically keep everything in one main compartment. However, I wanted some pockets for small items like tweezers and collar corsets. Just as importantly, I don't need extra zippers, straps, gusseted pockets and other stuff that just adds volume but isn't functional. This Gonex bag for me is a Goldilocks model that pretty much has everything I need without any extra stuff. The main compartment is large enough to hold supplies for a multi-week trip, including a ridiculously large case for my electric toothbrush. 8 ounce containers for mouthwash, full size toothpaste etc. Two slim zippered side pockets provide convenient storage for nail clippers, eye drops and other small items. Solid side zips open to reveal three divided interior pockets; The mesh side has a large pocket. I like the fact that both hold their content firmly in place. Nothing oozes out on the three-pocket side in particular, like my previous bag. between layers of fabric, so is not directly affected). I personally would prefer an all fabric bag, both in terms of weight and size. It doesn't really matter when traveling with a suitcase, but sometimes I just take a reversible briefcase or a small backpack with me for an overnight stay. Considering the weight of my laptop and another computer, every gram and inch counts; too much foam for me. In the end I really like the bag. It's the perfect size, has a few basic features and nothing else. The fabric and stitching feel durable and well-made. In addition, the low price belies the high quality that can keep up with bags that are many times more expensive. If this bag caught your eye, give it a try. I think you will be happy with that.
