I need to replace my noisy Reynolds sealant because the battery cover broke. It's a great sealer and quiet!. It definitely seals a lot stronger than Reynolds as I can no longer open the lid to open it. Works great with regular FoodSaver Sealant and a set of wide mouth hose cans, no hose required. I found that when I placed 3 small clear door bumpers on the inside of the white covers that helped push the metal cover down and the logo on the wide opening cover scuffed as it interfered with good suction. Now I rarely miss the seal. Works great with plastic bags, including those with an oval tongue, which surprised me.
