First of all, I would like to say that I have worked in private golf clubs for many years, where you have to look good. Still, I burn through ties and shoes very quickly. The price of ties seems to have gotten out of hand in the last two years. Alfani, formerly a cheap brand, a copy of "Armani" on JCPenny, has found its way into Macy's with ties starting at $55. Alfani makes good ties, but they are by no means exceptional. This is standard quality you can't pay more than $25 for. After that, I stopped buying ties from Macy's. They scoff at cheap brands like they're something to brag about. This tie was a very similar size to other ties I have and with good reviews I decided to buy it. Pros: Good straight stitch High quality material Fits well. A "cheap" or "brilliant" tie knows it's not. Yes, it's a shiny tie, and the finish should be just that. However, it doesn't shine any more than any of my large branded ties I own. It is by no means cheap. The quality of this tie will match or exceed your $55 department store tie. Buy it, you won't regret it.
