I was interested in this ice tray for two main reasons. I thought the silicone material would make it easy to get the ice cream out of the tray and I liked the interesting hexagonal shapes. It makes ice cubes in the shape of a hexagon, so that's how it works. However, the ice cubes themselves are very, very small, which might be overlooked if removing them from the tray was anything but a nightmare. Each tray is made up of 34 tiny hexagons and to get them out of the tray after freezing I have to turn it upside down and push each individual ice cube out from the back. Tried waiting a few minutes before removing them from the tray - no luck. I tried gently placing the trays in a shallow pan of very hot water for a minute before attempting to remove them - it didn't work and there were water droplets in my ice tray causing them to fall out after reuse glued back together. Freeze. It makes amazing little six-sided ice cubes, but the hassle of making them isn't worth the novelty at all.
