So for $84 this lantern is really good. I bought 2 to go through a 55 gallon reef tank, mostly LPS, some SP and a few soft mostly LPS. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: It has a built-in timer and auto sunset/sunrise feature, saving you a lot of timer and controller chaos. They are very quiet and easy to customize to suit your preferences. Haven't had them long enough to check coral growth but will come back and update but these things are getting bright. I don't have a mindset to test but they get bright enough that my softs, acanas and mushrooms during testing be switched off. If you buy two devices side by side, they will automatically sync. You can control 6 channels. Cons: Mounting hardware sucks. Best thing to do is get out your engineer's hat and do/change the trail. There are no instructions, but there is a video in the questions section that covers everything. This is a scam as the products usually come with instructions. No parity, no output plan, no recommended mounting height, nothing. For the sunset setting, you literally have to set it to 0% so that all channels are turned off, otherwise you'll have light all night. Reef lights because these lights have all the features of others with a built in controller. If you can get creative with the mounting options, it's worth it. There's no reason you need to spend more than $500 on a damn reef lighting system, not at all. AI and Kessil probably use the same LEDs but keep ripping people off. We don't indulge in this hobby to mindlessly empty our bank accounts. 4 stars.
