They are made of real wax and have a remote control, which is great! However, the warmth is way too much, real candles do not burn in such a stark orange tone (see pictures). Also, candles both flicker and twinkle, and I can only choose to have the "flame” move or to see fire’s change in intensity as it "burns”. It is packaged very well to avoid damaging the shape. Do not come with the candle’s batteries (6x AA). Would buy dozens of them if the warmth and twinkle+flicker where accurate. I know for the price it can’t be perfect, but it’s not an upgrade, it’s just a small tweak
