They have a reputation for being 'small', although I would say 'comfortable' is the best description. This of course depends a bit on the shape of your feet and whether you clip your toenails or not :) I went the same as my "normal" shoe size and they are smaller but for a struggle after a leg stretch is absolutely perfect. My daughter, having a choice of two sizes, when trying both, chose a half size larger than her usual 'regular' and loves them just as much. When in doubt, order your normal size and a half size larger and compare them to your feet. If they are a little tight but don't hurt after walking on the carpet for 10 minutes I would leave them on as they stretch a bit.
