I put this 3 gallon planter (bought at a local craft store with a 50% off coupon) on a bedside shelf and I needed this best light for it. The other light I put on top of the bowl wasn't as pretty (although it worked well) and I didn't want the cats tossing the table lamp in the water (because if they could, they would). This is a snail/shrimp bowl. The light is very pleasant and makes the colors shine. I have another terrarium with less capacity in a 1 gallon terrarium and it grows similar plants quite well in low light so I figured this one would go well with the Anubias, Java Fern, Java Moss, Marino Moss Balls and Mint (in the back). The lamp's neck flexes for perfect alignment on curved surfaces, and the magnet holds well. It doesn't have an on/off switch or a USB socket, so you'll have to buy those separately. I used a Kasa mini smart plug and set the time to turn the lights on and off. It's honestly easier this way as I don't have to worry about turning it off or leaving it on (which causes algae blooms) and the Kasa app automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time. If I encounter any issues, I will update those issues. At the moment it is perfect for my needs. I hope this review/photo helps other crafters decide if this light is right for them. Update: Unfortunately this light didn't work for my bowl, but it may still work for certain sizes. Applications (e.g. taller/narrower aquarium/terrarium or bowl/wider aquarium with a lighter focus plant only in the center of the aquarium). My bowl is rather wide than tall. This light is primarily focused to an area in the center, with some (but less) of the light spreading to the sides. This resulted in algae growing on my middle plants, but my plants on the outer edges weren't getting enough light. The longer/stick light is better for longer aquariums and bowls. However, the lower wattage version of this light works very well with my one liter jar, which is taller than it is long and the light spreads more evenly across all bowls. glass area. This higher wattage version sticks well to glass, puts out plenty of full spectrum light, and looks good, but needs a vase or tall tank, or would be good for a higher light focus plant growing in the center. Bowls (maybe with some low light plants around the edges 😉).
