Review on Silver Canon EOS M6 Camera Kit with 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM Lens by Anastazja Klementyna ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A very high-quality product, I take it not for the first time.

Bought a few months ago with an 18-150 lens at an attractive price. In comparison with competitors in the form of sony and fujifilm, the compactness and price of the camera bribed. In addition, optics from competitors are more expensive, although there is more choice. The 18-150 lens left a positive impression and gave almost the entire necessary focal range when traveling. Also there are: - 22mm 2.0 stm (inexpensive, compact, high-aperture, sharp wide open; equivalent to 35mm at ff, which gives it versatility), you can't think of a better one for this camera. I even managed to shoot pretty good portraits with him; - 50 mm 1.8 stm via viltrox adapter (from aliexpress 2-2.5 autofocus works well). In general, the camera is pleasant to use and I would like to see the continuation of this line with the correction of shortcomings and an increase in the fleet of native high-aperture optics (including a 50 mm high-aperture portrait lens). A few wishes for the next generations: - charging from usb; - silent electronic shutter; - focusing on the eyes (and in general, the tenacity and speed of focusing in low light still need to be worked on); - work on the usability of the application on the phone; - viewfinder on the side (as on sony a6000-a6500), internal flash can be sacrificed.

Pros
  • - aps-c and interchangeable lenses in such a small body (the camera is quite light, it is convenient to hold it in your hand, and with a 22mm lens it fits easily into a jacket pocket); - very compact ef-m lenses with an adequate price tag and image quality; - the quality of the resulting image; - camera jpeg colors; - fast autofocus in good light; - price compared to competitors (sony, fujifilm), especially in terms of optics; - the ability to transfer photos directly to the phone (but the application is not the most convenient); - strong design of the retractable screen; - an abundance of control wheels (fans of manual mode will be pleased).
Cons
  • - no usb charging (the main value of a mirrorless camera is its compactness, and in this case you have to take a regular Canon charger with you on a trip, which takes up a lot of space); - autofocus is far from perfect in low light (especially with an 18-150 lens); - a noticeable sound of a mechanical shutter; - lack of native high-aperture lenses; at the moment - only 22 2.0 and 32 1.4 (you can use other ef lenses through an adapter, but this kills compactness); - it happened that I touched the iso wheel, shooting with automatic iso, without noticing it, as a result I took some good shots with iso 25600; - subjectively (according to tests) some lag behind sony and fujifilm in terms of dynamic range and noise at high iso; - there is not enough moisture protection (but given that it is not on either carcasses or lenses, we are unlikely to see it in this system).
