Review on ROPER Cross Rider Rocky Brown: Durable and Stylish Footwear for the Adventurous by Victor Glatzel

Very comfortable, good practical boot - not waterproof

I work at the ranch at least 8 hours a day every day, usually more. I had a hard time finding comfortable work boots that I could also ride in if needed without having to change boots. They are excellent for this purpose. Of course my legs get tired at the end of the day, but I used to feel like my legs went through a garbage chute at the end of the day, and now they get tired like normal. I had them for about a month and they didn't need any time to get used to, they felt comfortable straight away. I bought them because I needed cheap, safe and comfortable shoes for work and they served their purpose. The main complaint is that these are not quite summer boots and not quite winter boots. If you're walking through tall grass after watering or getting dressed in the morning and the grass is still covered in dew, you'll feel some of the moisture seeping into your boots. So they are comfortable and easy to wear, but be aware that these are not ideal work shoes. They also wear out very quickly - the leather is lightweight and scratches/buffs easily, and the decorative tassel at the bottom of the laces keeps flipping. I don't mind because I don't need them to stay pretty. Also, when I squat on the balls of my feet, my feet get caught by the boots, but these are the boots for you, I don't think it can be avoided. The moisture issue is the main reason I didn't give them the full 5 stars. Also, Roper, if you've got people kinda seeing it. Please start making work boots for women like this one. I need to buy men's boots because it's really hard to find lace up work boots that don't have silly pink swirls or rhinestones or something. And they do well, but they're always a bit wider. We just need regular brown boots. This ranch has 5 employees, 3 of us are women. Here you have the opportunity to earn money.

Pros
  • They fit well and can be squeezed tight to give good ankle support which is what I was looking for.
Cons
  • Shoes can be too casual for formal occasions, which limits their versatility in a person's wardrobe.
