This is my second pair of Nike Air Pegasus 34s (after wearing 3 pairs of Air Pegasus 33s last year). These have been my favorite running shoes for years. I run 50-60 miles a week, most of it on paved surfaces. I like these shoes because they are durable (I've had issues in the past with Asics wearing a hole in the toe box, I've never had issues with the Air Pegasus), they're soft enough and helped improve my strides and I had fewer running injuries since switching to the Air Pegasus (I also lost about 30 pounds in the time I switched shoes, so the weight loss might also help reduce running injuries. The Air Pegasus prevents running injuries not, but they help me to run better (technique and it helps me to hurt myself less). The toe box is roomy enough for me (I might have a narrow foot) and I rarely have problems with calluses or crushed nails in these shoes (I often run 15-21 miles in these shoes and that can be an issue at times). The cushioning is less plush than some other running shoes, but I think it helps me recover and improve efficiency - probably not. Although this applies to everyone. I find the tread wears out much quicker for me than a liner and removed my old pair of 34s when the heel and midfoot treads became worn. Shoes wear out sooner or later, but usually the inner shoe wears out before the treads, but not on the Air Pegasus. These shoes are quite affordable for a very good quality running shoe. Most running shoes are rated for 300-600 miles, which means I'll get through the shoe in about 3 months or a little less, so it's good to have affordable running shoes that I can switch out in a relatively short amount of time. high level. My first pair of Nike Air Pegasus 34 lasted about 3 months so probably somewhere between 450 and 550 miles which is pretty good. These shoes should last a lot longer for most people who don't run 50-60 miles a week, but I thought I'd be honest about how quickly they wear out for me. I recommend these as a running shoe - I am training for a marathon and have been very happy with the performance of these shoes so far. I actually "prefer" the Air Pegasus 33, but since they're a lot harder to find these days, the 34 suits me. It probably took me about 200 miles to learn to walk comfortably in 34s compared to 33s, but now new shoes (now I run about 100 miles) are just as comfortable as my old 34's (and 33's). I would like to point out to runners that all runners are different and a shoe that fits me well may not fit someone else. We all have different foot shapes, different ways of touching the ground, different leg mechanics, different weights, different running speeds, and all of this means some people need softer shoes, some shoes with a big toe box, some people might do better with flatter shoes with less heel height.
