Sturdy and well made: good metal parts; good fabric for a canopy. The 40" dome fits one person, which was not the case with my old 38" camera. Good technology, materials, details, properties. The two-piece stem balances size and strength. The automatic opening works well and that's all you need for "automatic" in an umbrella. The locking function works well. The open ends of the sticks are held in place and protected. The handle is the weakest structural and technical point. I'm afraid I could crush it with a flick of the wrist if the shaft doesn't break first. The lack of a traditional hook handle is a much bigger downside than I could have imagined. However, I keep it for all other good reasons.
