Hoping to find a cheaper sandal than the Teva women's sandals I usually wear and love, I ordered the Camel Crown hiking sandals. As many reviewers have said, the sandals are really big - 10 is roomy enough for my size 10.5 feet wide. Although the arch support isn't as good as the Teva, the CC sandals provide ample support and the insole is comfortable. I love how it wraps around the back of the heel. I also like the wide range of CC strap colors. I have two problems with these sandals: 1) The straps at the front of the ankle are TOO long. Free ends protrude. The sandal designer did not take into account the thinner female ankle. However, I found a very simple fix for the loose ends of the strap: I bought some black Velcro dots and attached the hook side to a flat triangular plastic surface. (See photos) It holds pesky straps fairly well. 2) The black pieces on either side of the ankle area have sharp edges (see photo) that dig into my outer ankle bones when walking. Ouch. I only noticed it when I went for a long walk. You need to bandage your ankles so you can wear sandals comfortably.
