I bought this parcel shelf above the door mainly because the one I bought earlier is no longer available and I needed more parcel shelf. this. It is worth noting that the box cannot be opened without damaging it, so there is not much hope of returning the item once opened. The brackets fit a standard door and are generally not terrible. However, they do not sit flush with the outside of the door. They stick out, depending on where you plan to hang it I might see some shorter fingers in the future. They'll also scratch the door if you try to move it too hard. The straps feel strong enough for hats and adjust to fit snugly against the door. The door closes normally with a parcel shelf. The only thing I see is that the "hooks" you attach your hats to don't even cross two straps. There's no consistency in how far apart they are, so your hats won't hang perfectly straight. Overall I'm happy with this purchase, but I see some design flaws. The far right post is my previously purchased one, the middle and left straps are the product.
