I don't know what I expected, but these things don't last long. The kids stretched one and it started falling apart, after which my autistic kid started picking at the tear and tearing it apart, so that's what's going to happen with these things. I had really high hopes but couldn't find an indestructible fidget toy. It's good that all my kids are like that, I just want them to persevere, I think three of them are still fully intact. They also stick to certain surfaces, so be careful because once your child gets the hang of it, they could accidentally hit you or each other, and the noodles are thick enough to hurt someone.
