It took me a few weeks to get used to it because I hadn't tried any of these since I was a kid. The first few tries were pretty weird as I accidentally splashed my face and even hit the ceiling. Now that I understand this, I still don't know how to use it to keep water from running down the unit during use. There aren't many instructions in the kit. It's hard to floss on the back of your teeth, but I figured it out. There are three settings: normal, soft, and impulse. I only tried the "soft" setting because of sensitive gums. My video shows the heart rate setting. I have a feeling that the power and mode buttons are too touch sensitive and you might be hitting the wrong button when using them. Tip: Use warm water as cold water is painful when it hits your teeth.
