Worked very well for moving abroad

tl;dr; This article saved me during a move abroad, keeping my cats safe, happy and stress free. It could be improved but it works great. I moved to Washington from California with two cats on a 3 day trip. One of them is extremely shy to the point that he goes wild and has panic attacks for no reason. The other is the queen of the place and definitely hates being restricted. She's also not a fan of the car. She screamed on the way to Washington and struggled with each carry - she had nearly lost a claw on the previous trip. Box, bowls for water and food. The thing is big. I have a VW Golf and it fits in the back seat without much room - almost made for it. Looks durable, both the base material and mesh. It initially took a few minutes to figure out how to assemble the two parts. The carpets are excellent. The cats loved them and Scaredy Cat still plays with them. I didn't use a hammock as most of the time they get in the way and seem quite fragile. Also, the cats completely ignored it when tested. I left the carrier in the car the entire trip and used portable carriers to pick up and drop off the cats every morning and evening. As the landing was narrow I had to leave the door open for this time and be extra careful, but everything worked out. The cats were pretty cold while driving. They had enough space to move or sleep, they didn't feel trapped and could be together without lying on top of each other. The vocal cat meowed for a while the first day, but I completely solved this problem by covering the stretcher with a cloth (taking care not to disturb the airflow) - she could no longer look outside and not see me So they just calmed down and the rest of the trip was a breeze. She wasn't stressed in any way, which is a big improvement. She only wanted to go because she's a free range queen. So why 4 stars? A few points: Once assembled, it's almost impossible to transport pets inside. The bottom isn't strong enough and the form factor just doesn't lend itself to portability. When dismantled, generally only one of the two halves can be closed. The other only has 3 sides. I've seen the seller answer the question that both halves could be closed, but that's just not true. - No seat belt attachment. There is no way to lock the carrier in the car.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
