Review on πŸŒ€ Enhanced OXO Good Grips Smooth Edge Can Opener for Improved SEO by Paul Abs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sometimes there is no need to reinvent the wheel

I have arthritis in my hands and was tired of pulling and plugging in our electric opener etc so I looked for a manual one. I've been using OXO products for so long that I've taken their word for it and trusted them. But it's not a good can opener. Yes, it's a different and unique approach, but it's no better. Exactly the opposite. It is extremely difficult to attach the thing to the can before you start spinning. Because you can't see if it's secure and there's no click like a traditional opener, you're essentially relying on blind faith to rotate the can. But then: 1) There is no click to indicate the cut is complete. 2) The lid is almost impossible to remove once you're done - I have to pry it off with a bottle opener (this is because it cuts into the lid of the jar, not the outside like traditional bottle openers). 3) Then, as another reviewer points out, if you succeed, you've got a sharp-edged glass, with the LITERAL potential of slivers of metal falling into your food. I can't in good conscience recommend it to anyone and will throw it in the bin because I can't in good conscience sell it at a flea market or give it away to Goodwill. This is a bad product. Sorry OXO, I hate to give you a bad review but it is what it is.
